TOP WRITER LAVISHES PRAISE ON “FEARLESS” NFDOG

A ringing endorsement for NFDOG and its campaigning stance has been delivered in a leading national publication for dog owners.

The glowing support came in the venerable magazine, Our Dogs, a weekly that has been continuously published for 113 years.

Columnist Robert Killick was writing about what he sees as the shortcomings of KC Dog, the national group set up by the Kennel Club. The aim of KC Dog is to help dog owners protect themselves from initiatives such as the Clean Neighbourhood Act that gave local authorities the power to impose restrictions on dogs through control orders.

Killick suggests that the Kennel Club is good at writing “don’t be naughty” letters when councils overstep themselves by imposing savage restrictions, but that is not strong enough. “Bureauprats are bureauprats whether they ‘work’ for the Forestry Commission or local councils and they all need the same kick up the essentials before they can grasp the simple fact that it is us that employ them”, he writes.

Describing NFDOG as “powerful”, Killick notes that, through the group, dog owners banded together and “because of their pro-active, fearless stance, have influenced and will influence the Forestry Commission’s decisions.”

He adds: “The basic principle is that they act in concert; this is where KC Dog is failing in my opinion.”

Killick’s advice for tackling authorities is to “be in their faces all the time, annoy them, plague them until they submit to social justice.”
